After reports surfaced that Jon and Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin introduced a girlfriend to his children for the first time, there were several who found the decision bothersome. One person who found it drastic was of course, his ex-wife Kate Gosselin.
Kids Meet Jon Gosselin's New Girlfriend
The Jon and Kate Plus 8 matriarch was recently a guest on NBC's Today show, where she revealed how difficult it is for her to explain the situation to the kids. The divorce was tough enough, but it got worse with Jon Gosselin bringing home strangers.
"Jon's decisions remain his decisions and it's just for me to help the kids deal with it. It's hard. They come home and I have to discuss things with them," Kate Gosselin said. "They ask me questions where his girlfriends are concerned. It's just a situation that I have to deal with with them."
The appearance of Ellen Ross, Jon's current girlfriend, certainly was a surprise to the Gosselin brood. One can only imagine how the mother of eight has to point out and sift through the details of it all, especially since the Jon and Kate Plus 8 dad has had several female friends since the separation.
As for Kate Gosselin, she still hasn't tried to date like he has. "I don't feel like it's time. I feel like my kids need so much of me that I need to be there with them," she explained.
While she isn't too keen on doing so, her children, trying to understand the situation, usually tell her that she should find someone already. "Personally, I don't feel ready move forward," Kate Gosselin announced.
"At some point I'm sure that I will. The kids even talk about it, they bring it up. They wonder am I going to get married again and all of those things. I'm open and I talk to them about it."
